Time explores the behind-the-scenes drama and humour of Lockhart Productions,
a Television Production Company which produces a one-hour mid-week
current affairs programme for a national television network. It follows
the working lives, private lives, successes and failures of the people
who work on the program “Assignment”, both in front and behind the
cameras. David Lockhart is the sharp and aggressiveinterviewer renowned
for his dynamic approach. He heads the team both on and off-air. Lockhart
is the presenter of “Assignment”, as well as both producing and packaging
the programme for the Five Network. The characters who work at Lockhart
Productions are a diverse group - as in any working situation. There
is an intriguing mixture of those whose ambition and drive are tempered
by their vulnerability and insecurity, and others whose carefree approach
is underlined by a fundamental concern. When all are thrown together
in the pressured, competitive atmosphere of Lockhart Productions,
the results are usually dramatic, something moving and often comical.
